Hello CCI Families,
We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our students for the 2020 school year. There are many changes to this school year to keep our student, staff and families safe.
We do understand that, like any plan, the revised structure is not perfect, and has its drawbacks. It is an extended amount of time for students on each subject, but it is a model we know can be successful for students as it is used each year for summer school. The health and safety of our students and staff must always remain our top priority. The new structure to the secondary school day will greatly reduce the number of contacts students and staff have each day – a step that is in keeping with directives from both provincial and local health authorities and the Ministry of Education.

Class will begin at 8:30 am and the end of day will be 2:30 pm. Further details concerning the daily schedule will be posted next week.
Students are not permitted to enter the building until 8:10 am. Once students enter the building they must go directly to their class. Students must leave the building at 2:30 pm unless remaining in their classroom with their teacher.
There will be three variations of the above schedule to allow for staggered breaks and lunch. Period 1 teachers will communicate the specific lunch and break schedule for each class on the first day of school. All students should check Edsby for details concerning their period 1 class, assigned entry door to the school and break schedules.
Due to the circumstances of shifting students from face-to-face to virtual learning, our timetable is currently undergoing significant changes and is not yet finalized. We will not be able to share updated student timetables this week but will do so as soon as possible. Students will be able to make requests to change timetables during the week of September 14 - 17.
If the change in the school day structure affects your decision in attending face to face or online Learn at Home please email kpr_info@kprdsb.ca as soon as possible so we can ensure your decision is accommodated.
Staggered Start to the 2020 school year

We fully understand and appreciate the frustration of parents. We have been doing our best to plan for a safe return to school, given the fluid nature of this situation, and evolving guidelines from the Ministry of Education and Public Health.
Again, we appreciate that this is a hardship for parents and our students, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We look forward to welcoming everyone back and will continue to communicate information as it becomes available.
Thank you for patience.
